A Treasure Ships Grave
The Santísima Trinidad nicknamed "The Urca De Lima" sank in 1715 of the coast of Ft Pierce, Florida about 200 yards offshore of Pepper Park Beach.
This wreck was rediscovered 1928 and was the first addition in the the underwater archaeological preserve. This is a stabilized wreck and is a great freedive, snorkeling and scuba beach dive with only a 10 to 15 foot depth.
A stunning example of why this area is named the "Treasure Coast" and a testament to the threat of hurricanes on the seas. Though there not a whole lot left from the original wreck you can still see a underwater brass monument, some original planks and 5 concrete cannons that have replaced the originals. All said this is still a great historic site to dive.
