Becoming a certified diver is easy

Scuba is fun sport but you need to be trained and certified to learn how to safely dive. The beginner "Open Water" Certification will teach you the basic  skills to survive underwater and teach you how to best use the equipment. There are lots of schools to get certified so contact you nearest dive shop to find out how to get certified. Certification should offer water time. You can not learn everything from a book or computer the you need to dive. Please only use a reputable institution and do some research before you pay any money. Always remember practice makes a good diver. Keep in mind - the more you dive the better you get and the more fun you will have. I remeber my first few dives were not much fun and dang confusing, just dont give up. It is a fun, wonderful sport.

Here are some of the best certification institutes:

PADI - Professional Association of Diving Instructors

SSI - Scuba Schools International

International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers

NAUI - The National Association of Underwater Instructors
